I can’t even link back to any links because every site I’ve found is getting slowed by traffic (including Deadspin). The only things I can say is that it’s critically important to wear proper safety gear and take a motorcycle safety course and hopefully Walker may not die in vain if he inspires riders and motorists to be safer- but other than that I’m left truly speechless.

23, that’s just awful. He didn’t live long enough to know better. I did a lot of dumb stuff in my early 20's, but was lucky enough to come out the other side.

Was he not geared? Because we can’t necessarily say that he would have lived if he was, but it definitely improves your chances enough to be worth it.

I read he was street riding without a helmet, on a dirt bike without lights, at night wearing dark colored clothes. Sorry for his family.
